FCH-JU Stakeholder Forum 2016

23/11/2016 to 23/11/2016

Brussels, Belgium

This event is in English

The Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking is organizing the 9th edition of its Stakeholder Forum.

Addressing European decarbonisation targets requires technologies that reduce energy consumption and emissions whilst fully harnessing the potential of renewable energies. In this context, Fuel Cells and Hydrogen technologies constitute a significant opportunity to substitute fossil fuels in transport, energy and industrial sectors. They also have great potential to diversify Europe’s energy supplies whilst making better use of sustainable domestic resources. As these technologies are now entering the market, a concerted effort from public and private partners is necessary to trigger large-scale deployment.

On 23 November 2016, the 9th edition of the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) Stakeholder Forum will explore how fostering partnerships at different levels can impact and propel existing deployment strategies and/or give rise to new business cases and markets.

  • How can government better support innovative technologies to facilitate first-phase deployment?
  • How can synergies between public and private partners at regional, national and European level be increased?
  • What incentives are needed to shift users’ habits towards more sustainable ones in order to spur commercialisation?
  • Which additional financing mechanisms are available and how can they work together?
  • What are the concrete benefits of FCH technologies for early adopters?

To address these questions, the 2016 Stakeholder Forum in Brussels will put together a rich programme of inspiring keynote talks, interactive sessions and room for networking. It will gather industry players, European policy-makers and regulators, as well as ‘cross-sectorial’ energy stakeholders, key associations, utilities and civil society representatives.

The event will take place on 23 November 2016 at the Charlemagne building, Rue de la Loi 170, 1000 Brussels, Belgium.

About the stakeholder Forum

Organised annually, the FCH JU Stakeholder Forum is the key platform where European and global stakeholders across sectors come together to examine and assess the current position of this emerging industry, exchange ideas on next steps and make contacts. First held in 2008 under the name ‘Stakeholder General Assembly’, it initially had the mission to stimulate a dynamic debate and information exchange on on-going and future activities mainly among players in the fuel cells and hydrogen community. The event is growing yearly with an increasing number of participants.
