On 8th -9th November, Denmark hosted the large-scale Nordic hydrogen conference, HFC Nordic. The conference was held in connection with Nordic Innovation ‘Next Wave’, which aims to promote the roll-out of hydrogen transport in the Nordic region.
The program included representatives from the automotive industry, hydrogen infrastructure, fuel cell manufacturers and several other parts of the Nordic hydrogen and PtX value chain. In the course of 1½ days, an assessment was made of the development, and a further industrialisation and commercialisation of the industry was looked forward to. Toyota, Volvo, Iveco, Quantron and Daimler all represented car manufacturers betting on hydrogen trucks. The Danish industry was represented by both Everfuel, Advent Technologies, Ballard Power Systems and Blue World Technologies.
Anna Margrét Kornelíusdóttir from Icelandic New Energy shared insights, results and learnings from the Hydrogen Mobility Europe (H2ME & H2ME2) project.
The conclusion was that great progress is being made, but there is still much to be done in terms of scaling up hydrogen production, rolling out infrastructure and greater demand for hydrogen solutions.
