Icelandic project kick-off: “In the perfect position to develop a sustainable transport system”

11/04/2017

“The exemplary use of renewable sources in its electricity infrastructure puts Iceland in the perfect position to develop a sustainable transport system based on green hydrogen” said Bart Biebuyck, Executive Director of Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH-JU), at the seminar “Multi-fuel future“, held by Icelandic NewEnergy and Skeljungur in Harpa at the end of March.  The seminar was held in collaboration with Toyota and Hyundai, where the future of eco- friendly cars and green energy sources in transport was discussed. The energy switch in the transport sector is a fact and consumers have a significant impact on this change in addition to government bodies and car manufacturers to affect what type of alternative energy sources will be available.
